Throughout the region there are small and charming rural villages, with emphasis on the Ermida do Gerês, Santa Isabel do Monte. Cotelo, Campo do Gerês and Brufe, which seem to be magically frozen in time, where tradition still reigns, and the land still rewards those who wisely take care of it.

In the vicinity, the Caniçada and the Vilarinho das Furnas dams are places of great beauty, where you can enjoy various water activities and rent a leisure motorboat at the Rio Caldo marina.

The Vilarinho das Furnas Ethnography Museum, is one of the doors of the Peneda do Gerês National Park, located in Terras de Bouro.

Nearby are the Sanctuaries of São Bento da Porta Aberta and Senhora da Abadia popular attractions for pilgrims and pilgrimages.

In the mountainous landscapes, are the prominent series of walking trails in the Miguel Torga route, the fojos do lobo, the silhas, the furnas (fumaroles), the sheds and the shepherds' huts, which were once useful to the daily lives of the inhabitants of the Gerês and Amarela mountain ranges.

Still in the neighbourhood, are also the hot springs Termas da Vila do Gerês and Termas de Moimenta which are very popular attractions in that town, with a modern spa that is famous for treating health problems associated to the liver, gall bladder, obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure and chronic rheumatism.
